Hue Marathon and COUPE DE Hue Cycle Race 2018
In preparation for Hue Marathon and COUPE DE Hue Cycle Race 2018, a meeting was held at office of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee by Department of Culture and Sport and relevant units on June 7th. Attending and presiding the meeting were Member of Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Dung; representatives of departments and agencies; members of consultant council organizing Hue Marathon and international cycle race.

Following successful VTV, HTV cup international cycle races seasons and marathon day held in the past years, Hue Marathon and COUPE DE Hue Cycle Race 2018 aim to raise the awareness of role, meaning and efficiency of sport and physical training in protecting as well as improving health and enhancing residential living standards; develop healthy cultured lifestyle and environment; create culture and sport playground (sports in general and Marathon in particular) for locals as well as domestic and foreign tourists coming to Hue. In addition, the event aims to celebrate coming events and festivals in Thua Thien Hue province and Vietnam.

As planned, COUPE DE Hue Cycle Race 2018 will be held in 02 days (from August 25th to August 26th, 2018). The 138-kilometer cycle race is divided into 4 sections. In particular, this year race will go through streets of Hue city, districts and towns.

Hue Marathon will be organized on September 2nd with about 3.000 athletes. The Organizing Committee will hold 04 sections including 02 long sections and 02 short ones including 1st section (Full Marathon - from city to district, towns) - 42,2 km; 2nd section (Half Marathon) - 21.1 km; 3rd section  - 10 Km (around Hue Citadel) and 4th distance -  5km (Truong Tien bridge - Phu Xuan bridge).

To encourage sport training spirit, the Organizing Committee will award 46 prizes (23 prizes for male and 23 prizes for female) to excellent athletes joining in Hue Marathon.

  • Le Ba Dang is a Vietnamese-born painter who was listed as one of the most valuable academics of the 20th century by the International Biography Centre at Cambridge University. Diem Phung Thi is a published Vietnamese sculptress who was a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts and listed in the Larousse Dictionary of Twentieth Century History.
  • Ho Thuy Tien lies just outside Huong Thuy town in Hue and has become somewhat of a rite of passage for travellers on the banana pancake trail. Visitors can access the park fairly easily and explore the cracked water slides, partially full aquarium tanks and the increasing creep of nature over the pathways and structures.
