Hue-ICT Challenge is a contest held annually by the Information Technology and Electronics and Telecommunications Association of Thua Thien Hue province in collaboration with the University of Science and Technology - Hue University under the direction of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province. 

Hue-ICT Challenge is held annually to encourage the movement of learning, creative research, improving collective working skills, integrating international standards of students of high schools and junior high schools (in general: high schools); finding and detecting innovative IT product ideas in students, thereby guiding students to choose the IT industry to develop their careers, meeting the demand for IT human resources market of Thua Thien Hue province, the Central - Central Highlands in particular and the whole country in general.

Raised as a provincial competition right from the first time held in 2022, Hue-ICT Challenge is considered a useful playground to practice skills and creativity for students, helping them have opportunities to rub talent fairly; thereby spreading love and passion in the IT field, contributing to the implementation of the goal of "Building an information technology workforce to meet the development needs of the province's information technology industry in 2020 and orientation to 2025" according to Plan No. 20/KH-UBND dated February 3, 2022 of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province.

At the closing program of Hue-ICT Challenge 2023 and awarding the IT Innovation Product Competition to students of colleges and universities, the Contest Organizing Committee awarded 01 first prize, 02 second prizes, 05 third prizes and 07 consolation prizes to candidates with the best products. The total prize value for the information technology innovation product contest for college and university students is 28 million VND.

Previously, on March 19, 2023, at the Programming Contest for high school students, the Organizing Committee awarded 148 individual awards, 20 collective awards with total prize money of 113,900,000 VND, of which the JUNIOR CHALLENGE Board had 40 individual prizes, 04 collective prizes; The NAÏVE CHALLENGE Board had  68 individual prizes, 10 collective prizes; PRO CHALLENGE table has 40 individual prizes, 06 collective prizes.

Mr. Nguyen Long, General Secretary of the Vietnam Informatics Association, shared his interest and commitment to accompanying to raise Hue-ICT Challenge 2024 as a National Competition.

On this occasion, in order to promptly encourage and encourage the school and students to participate in the contest, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province issued Decision No. 1228/QD-UBND dated May 29 5 on the awarding of the Certificate of Merit of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 2023 collective and 01 individuals who have made outstanding achievements in the Programming Contest for high school students at the Contest.

According to the report of the Organizing Committee of the contest, at the Programming Contest for high school students, this year's contest received the number of registered candidates up to 1,334 students, from 337 schools in 46 provinces and cities in the country (an increase of 4 times compared to the first year held 2022)). Overcoming the preliminary round, 284 best candidates from 120 schools/24 provinces in the country entered the final round with very high quality. They work within 180 minutes (programming to solve 4 to 5 problems) with programming languages: Pascal, C/C++, Java, Python on OJ System of Hue University of Science (http://oj.husc.edu.vn). After candidates complete the test and submit it on the system, there will be an automatic grading machine according to each test case to calculate the score for the test as well as a collation of source code to avoid copying and cheating, ensuring fairness and objectivity for candidates. 

For the IT Innovation Product Contest for students of colleges and universities, this year, the Organizing Committee of the Contest has received more than 30 IT innovation products participating in the Contest (an increase of nearly 10 innovative products compared to 2022) from universities and colleges in Thua Thien Hue province and provinces and cities in the country such as Nguyen Tat Thanh University (Ho Chi Minh City). Ho Chi Minh City), Quy Nhon University (Binh Dinh), Quang Binh University (Quang Binh). Excellent passing the preliminary round, 15 creative products with the highest score were selected by the Jury for the contestants to present the topic and products in the final program. These are considered potential products, capable of development and application in practice as well as showing creativity and initiative in research, research and learning of students in many fields. 

Hue-ICT Challenge this year received the support of the Department of Information and Communications, Department of Education and Training, Provincial IT Center and sponsorship from enterprises: GOSU Online Joint Stock Company, SMC Hue Co., Ltd, FPT Software Da Nang Company, 3S Hue International Software Co., Ltd, VNPT Thua Thien Hue, Rikkeisoft Joint Stock Company, Brycen Vietnam Co., Ltd, SoftWorld Vietnam Co., Ltd - Hue Branch, Viettel Thua Thien Hue - Branch of Military Industry and Telecommunications Group, Eagle Group Joint Stock Company, Digital Data Mining Co., Ltd (BDATA), CodeGym Vietnam Joint Stock Company and media protection from Hue Discovery website. The total funding is more than 250 million.

Previously, with the approval and facilitation of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, the coordination of Hue Monuments Conservation Center, the Organizing Committee deployed the final delegation to visit Hue Citadel for FREE on the afternoon of March 19/3/2023 400 (the delegation included 284 people, of which 116 were contestants and 116 were teachers and representatives of parents (outside the province) accompanying the contestants at the Contest).
