The challenge is aimed to encourage organizations, individuals and teams across the province to develop innovation and start up spirit; spread start-up spirit in the community; search, select and honor potential innovative start-up ideas/projects; attract the support from society and businesses for potential start-up ideas/projects. The People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province issued plan No. 98/KH- UBND dated March 16, 2023 regarding to organizing Thua Thien Hue Start-up Challenge 2023 and Decision No. 576/QD-UBND dated March 17, 2023 regarding to the rule of Thua Thien Hue Start-up Challenge 2023.

As informed by Mr. Ho Thang - the Director of Science and Technology Department, the challenge has been held in the province for 8 times. An organizing board is founded to direct activities. Science and Technology Department is directly in charge of holding the challenge while other relevant agencies accompany the event. This year, the organizer received ninety entries, which is the largest number so far. They are divided into 02 groups i.e. agriculture, processing and exploiting local resource; technology application, and other start-up ideas/projects.

Based on score marked by judges in preliminary round, the organizer selected 32 potential start-up ideas/projects for semi-final round. These are socio-economic influential, feasible and commercially effective.

Thua Thien Hue start-up challenge 2023 is assessed on the basis of the following criteria innovation, commercialization possibility, growth potential, business model/plan, socio-economic impact, meaning, resources, author's presentation skill, etc.

At semi-final round,  judges will consider dossiers, presentation skills and teams’ answers. Potential ideas/projects will enter the final round which is planned to be held on October 2023.
