The lyrics of the song "Một thoáng quê hương" (by composers Tu Huy and Thanh Tung) opened the Ao Dai art program "Hanoi - Hue - Saigon," which was held on the evening of June 25th at Nghinh Luong Dinh in Hue City. This event is one of the highlights of the Hue Community Ao Dai Week 2024 (taking place from June 24th to June 30th, 2024).

For the ancient capital of Hue, the Ao Dai is a unique cultural heritage that has been formed, developed, and existed for over 300 years. In recent years, Thua Thien Hue province has initiated and promoted the revival of traditional Ao Dai (including both men's and women's Ao Dai) in conjunction with the implementation of the project "Hue - the Capital of Vietnamese Ao Dai." Within Thua Thien Hue province, the cultural sector, playing a leading role, has integrated Ao Dai into daily life, cultural and sports festivals, flag-raising ceremonies in offices, and more.

Along with Hue, the movement to develop traditional Ao Dai and revive the national costume is spreading strongly nationwide, driven by the efforts of various associations and organizations, particularly among the youth.

Nghinh Luong Dinh Shines in the Ao Dai Festival Night

The Ao Dai art night "Hanoi - Hue - Saigon" transported viewers to a distinctive cultural space, with the graceful Ao Dai taking center stage, from traditional to modern designs. The show narrated the story of the "History of National Costume in Dang Trong - Dai Nam" by researcher and designer Vu Duc, the "Legend of the Ancient Capital" by designer Doan Trang, and the inspiration of "Returning to the Ancient Capital" by designer Nam Tuyen with the traditional Ao Dai collection "Long Van Khanh Hoi."

The Ao Dai collections from designers of the three regions were showcased and introduced at the program.

Integrated into the inspiration of Ao Dai is the cultural presence of the three regions—North, Central, and South—featuring distinctive performances such as Hat Xam (Northern region), singing and dancing (Hue), and Vong Co and Don Ca Tai Tu (Southern region).

A homecoming and convergence on the homeland of Ao Dai, the essence of Hue's craftsmanship is also honored through the creativity and skill of young, talented Ao Dai designers with collections titled "Hue Crafts and Ao Dai."

The art program "Ao Dai, Hanoi - Hue - Saigon" brought a range of emotions through the music and performance art of artists and models from across the three regions of the country.

Incorporating Special Artistic Performances to Honor the Traditional Ao Dai

The Hue Community Ao Dai Week 2024, held from June 24th to June 30th, includes a series of activities such as tributes, Ao Dai parades, Ao Dai performances, and art shows. These events are combined with various forms of promotion and publicity to honor the image of the Ao Dai. The initiative aims to encourage and mobilize strong community participation and support during the Hue Community Ao Dai Week 2024.
