Times have changed, and although Phuoc Tich pottery products remain beautiful and practical, they struggle to find a lasting foothold in an ever-evolving world. In an effort to preserve and continue spreading the values of the village’s pottery, Phuong Tam Bao, one of the last two artisans keeping the village kilns alive, knows how to rely on the traditional strengths of Phuoc Tich pottery, and, at the same time, connected with like-minded young people to reach out to the market by reimagining and stylizing traditional designs for the tourism, bringing Phuoc Tich pottery into greater visibility through traditional exhibition spaces, cafés, and souvenir shops.
To celebrate and share these values, Hue Today Weekly proudly presents an inspiring photo collection by Bao Chau, a photographer, in an effort to connect the beauty of Phuoc Tich pottery with the wider world.
