Hue Festival 2024 will be held through out the year. The event will be kicked off by a "Le Ban Soc" (calendar book distribution ceremony) on January 1st, 2024 and will be wrapped up by a countdown program to be organized on December 31st, 2024. Key programs and festivals will be held from June 7th to June 12th, 2024).
Thua Thien Hue is the first locality to organize a contemporary festival which is known by both local and international visitors. Having been introduced for over 24 years, Hue Festival has become a noticeable event within international festival system. Based on lessons learned from previous seasons, a series of high-quality festivities will take place on Hue Festival 2024 week (June 7 - June 12). The event attracted artists from Hue, Vietnamese cultural regions and spectacular art troupes overseas.
In addition to cultural activities, arts programs, folk festivals, royal festivals and religious festivals, new programs will be held to meet visitors’ demand. Hue Festival is expected to be regularly held, contribute to socio-economic development as well as develop Thua Thien Hue into a featured festival city in Vietnam.
“Xuan Co do” spring festival (from January - March)
Organized in the first three months, the event brings together royal festivals, folk festivals and religious festivals. Key activities are Hue Festival 2024 announcement ceremony, calendar book distribution ceremony under Nguyen dynasty, royal festivals, folk festival, traditional Tet cultural space, festivities held in Hue Citadel in the past and activities celebrating Thua Thien Hue Liberation day.
“Kinh thanh toa sang” summer festival (from April to June)
The highlight of summer festival is Hue Festival 2024 week held from April 10th, 2024 to April 11th, 2024 (the 2nd and the 3rd day of the third lunar month).
“Hue vao Thu” Autumn festival (from July to September)
Autumn festival brings together Hue International Kite Flying 2024, lantern parade, exhibition, lion dance, etc.
“Mua Dong xu Hue” winter festival (from October to December)
New festivities will be held in winter festival to create an exciting atmosphere as well as bring visitors entertaining activities during their stay in Hue Citadel. Hue Music Week 2024 and countdown program.

- Art exhibitions
- Scientific workshops
- Domestic and international sport tournaments.
- Maintain art performances of clubs, music bands, etc at public places such as parks, pedestrian streets, etc.
- Festivals and folk cultural activities at localities.
The Director of Hue Monument Conservation Center Hoang Viet Trung kindly informed that Hue Festival 2024 is a meaningful event as Thua Thien Hue is making effort to become a centrally-managed city which features culture, ecology, landscape, environmental friendliness and smart operation on the basis of conserving and preserving heritage values and Hue cultural identity.
It is an opportunity to introduce Hue cultural heritages, particularly world-recognized heritages. With a view to conserve traditional values, the fact that royal architecture was recovered and festival associated with Hue architectures were recreated have positive impact on the development of local culture and tourism.
