Hue's Yellow Apricot Blossom is a native and endemic flower to the land of Hue, cultivated for centuries in the imperial palaces, royal residences, communal courtyards, temples, and even in the gardens of the local people of the Ancient Capital. Its radiant five-petaled blossoms, adorned with the regal yellow hue unique to Hue's apricot blossoms, exude an elegant charm and a gentle, intoxicating fragrance that captivates the hearts of those who encounter it.
Every spring, hundreds of yellow apricot trees of various sizes and ages line the streets, creating a breathtaking scene. When the blossoms are in full bloom, the roads appear to be draped in a dazzling golden robe, forming a romantic and dreamlike atmosphere.
In particular, within the grounds of the Imperial City, ancient yellow apricot trees stand as living witnesses to history. As Tet approaches, these trees receive meticulous care to ensure they bloom at just the right time. The blossoming apricot flowers, set against the timeless backdrop of the Imperial City, create a harmonious and romantic beauty.
For the Lunar New Year of 2025 (Year of the Snake), the Hue Yellow Apricot Blossom Festival will once again take place, offering locals and visitors the opportunity to admire the unparalleled beauty of this springtime symbol. At the same time, the festival serves as a celebration of the unique cultural heritage of Hue, the Ancient Capital.
