On the morning of February 18th (the 9th day of the Lunar New Year, Year of the Rat), the Huyen Tran Cultural Center inaugurated the Huyen Tran Temple Festival with the theme "Honoring Ancestors," commemorating the great contributions of Princess Huyen Tran, who played a significant role in expanding the Dai Viet realm.

In June of the Year of the Horse, King Tran Anh Tong married Princess Huyen Tran to King Chiem Thanh, also known as Che Man, fulfilling the promise made by Emperor Tran Nhan Tong during his visit to Chiem Thanh earlier. King Che Man offered two provinces, O and Ly, as tribute. This land extended from Quang Binh to North Quang Nam. In 1307, the Tran dynasty renamed O province to Thuan province and Ly province to Hoa province. Princess Huyen Tran passed away in 1340.

The Huyen Tran Temple Festival lasted for 2 days, from the 8th to the 9th day of the Lunar New Year, coinciding with the 684th death anniversary of Princess Huyen Tran. The festival is one of the major attractions for tourists in Thua Thien - Hue Province, featuring various activities such as the grand prayer ceremony "Quoc Thai Dan An," offering incense at the Huyen Tran Princess Temple, and paying respects at the Tran Nhan Tong King Temple.
