On the afternoon of February 28, 2024, commemorating the 85th anniversary of the birth of the late musician Trinh Cong Son, with the unanimous consent of the Provincial People's Committee, the Hue City People's Committee, and the collaboration of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center in the presence of generations of Trinh's music enthusiasts, the bronze statue of musician Trinh Cong Son was inaugurated and placed in a park named after him next to the Huong River, at the foot of the Gia Hoi Bridge.

Representing the family of the late musician, Ms. Trinh Vinh Trinh, Trinh Cong Son's younger sister, emotionally shared: "During his lifetime, Son traveled and was connected to many places across our beloved Vietnam, but Hue remains his roots, the land that inspired him the most, and left a significant mark on Trinh Cong Son's musical career. I believe that without Hue, it would be difficult to imagine the complete musical landscape of Trinh Cong Son."

This bronze statue was crafted at Giang Dien waterfall (Dong Nai) over one year. The statue stands at a height of 1.7m, length of 2.3m, and width of 1.6m, creating an intimate and familiar feeling for admirers when contemplating the portrait of the famous musician from Hue.

Renowned sculptor Truong Dinh Que was selected for this esteemed task due to his reputation as one of Vietnam's most famous artists, having won numerous awards both domestically and internationally. Born in 1939, the same year as musician Trinh Cong Son, Que graduated from the Gia Dinh Fine Arts College in 1960, the year Trinh Cong Son composed his first song, "Uot mi." Between the two, there was a harmonious friendship in music and painting, allowing Que to empathize easily in shaping his close friend.

The statue portrays Trinh Cong Son in a posture of bowing down as if looking into a book, as if looking into himself; naturally, accompanying him is his "companion" from the day "bearing the burden of human life" to the moment "meeting in the middle of noon... unexpectedly parting amidst the void," his guitar, just as in the lyrics of his songs.
