The Sình Village Wrestling Festival attracts a large number of local residents and visitors from afar to participate. The festival includes various traditional cultural activities such as rituals, processions, and especially thrilling wrestling matches.
The wrestlers participating in the festival are individuals with good health, coming from within the village or from all over Thua Thien Hue Province. Previously, the wrestling matches took place on a wrestling ring erected in the village courtyard. However, due to the increasing population density, the village square no longer provides sufficient space for the event. Therefore, the local authorities have constructed a new wrestling arena in a spacious area not far from the village square. The wrestlers compete with noble sportsmanship, offering the audience spectacular and dramatic performances.
The Sình Village Wrestling Festival is not only a recreational activity but also an occasion for local residents to demonstrate martial spirit, patriotism, and the consciousness of preserving the national cultural identity.
This year, the Sình Village Wrestling Festival will continue to be organized according to traditional customs, starting at 7:30 AM on February 19, 2024 (the 10th day of the Lunar New Year) in Lai An Hamlet, Phu Mau Commune, Hue City. We cordially invite everyone to come and join us.
