THE DUONG NO VILLAGE FESTIVAL

The Dương Nỗ Village Festival is organized to celebrate the 134th anniversary of President Hồ Chí Minh's birthday (19/5/1890 - 19/5/2024) and the 126th anniversary of his residency in Dương Nỗ Village (1898-2024). The festival is jointly organized by the Department of Culture and Sports and the Hồ Chí Minh Museum of Thừa Thiên Huế Province in Dương Nỗ Village, Phú Dương Commune, Huế City.
Alongside the communal house, Am Bà, and Bến Đá, the house in Dương Nỗ Village holds a significant place in President Hồ Chí Minh's early life, where he and his family lived during their time in the rural Thừa Thiên Huế province in the late 19th century (1898 - 1900).
Under the theme "Dương Nỗ - Journey of May," the Dương Nỗ Village Festival will take place over three days, from May 18th to May 20th, 2024, featuring various highlighted activities such as the opening art program, the lotus flower procession and portrait of President Hồ Chí Minh from the communal house to the memorial house, offering flowers and incense to President Hồ Chí Minh, the photo exhibition "The Beauty of Hồ Chí Minh's Heritage and Dương Nỗ Village Culture," the folk painting exhibition of Vietnam, and the traditional Dương Nỗ Village race.
Additionally, there will be several supporting activities including cultural culinary experiences, traditional bài chòi spaces, Huế singing performances, traditional musical instrument performances, and more to engage the community.
The ceremonial procession of lotus flowers and the portrait of President Hồ Chí Minh from the communal house to the Memorial House symbolizes the President's childhood in Dương Nỗ Village.
The traditional racing festival in Dương Nỗ Village aims to introduce visitors to the heritage value of President Hồ Chí Minh in Thừa Thiên Huế.
The activities at the festival aim to build a bond between the heritage sites and the community, enhance the community's awareness of heritage conservation and promotion. Additionally, it serves as a focal point to attract tourism development activities, providing an opportunity to introduce the heritage to travel companies, tour operators, and tourists both domestically and internationally, attracting social investment in activities to promote the value of the heritage site.
This is the second year that the Dương Nỗ Village Festival has been organized to continue implementing the Project to promote the heritage value of President Hồ Chí Minh's relics in Thừa Thiên Huế province for tourism development, approved by the Provincial People's Committee. This aligns with the direction set forth in Resolution 54 of the Politburo, emphasizing the development of Thừa Thiên Huế based on effectively exploiting and promoting the province's potentials and advantages, especially the harmonious combination of rich cultural and historical heritage with natural landscapes and diverse natural resources.
