The "Ao Dai Cycling for the Environment 2024" event attracted more than 200 participants.
On the morning of June 29, 2024, at the Quoc Hoc Hue Stele, the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien Hue Province successfully organized the "Ao Dai Cycling for the Environment 2024" event. This event is one of the prominent activities aimed at implementing Plan No. 01/KH-UBND dated January 2, 2024, by the Provincial People's Committee on the program for cultural, tourism, and service development, as well as Plan No. 106/KH-UBND dated March 5, 2024, by the Provincial People's Committee on organizing the Hue Community Ao Dai Week.

The "Ao Dai Cycling for the Environment 2024" event attracted the participation of over 200 members, including officials, employees, and workers from the Department of Tourism, the Department of Culture and Sports, the Institute for Development Studies, the Tourism Association (with member associations: Travel, Hotels, Tour Guides), the Business Association, the Hue Women Entrepreneurs Association, the Tourism School - Hue University, the Tourism College, various units and businesses operating in the tourism and service sector in Thua Thien Hue Province, as well as a large number of tourists and Hue residents.

This activity also aims to encourage local residents and tourists to join hands in supporting the community sports movement, improving health, and working towards a "Green - Clean - Bright" Hue. It helps widely spread the title of Hue as an ASEAN Clean Tourism City. Additionally, this event provides an opportunity for units and businesses operating in the tourism and service sectors in Thua Thien Hue Province to meet, interact, and showcase the beautiful image of their entities, working together to promote tourism development.

The Vibrant Opening Ceremony of “Ao Dai Cycling for the Environment”

After the opening ceremony at Bia Quoc Hoc Hue, all delegates and participants, dressed in traditional ao dai, cycled through the main streets of Hue city. The route included Bia Quoc Hoc – Le Loi Street – Bui Thi Xuan Street – Da Vien Bridge – Le Duan Street – Quang Duc Gate – Ong Ich Khiem Street – Le Huan Street – Dang Thai Than Street – Doan Thi Diem Street – Mai Thuc Loan Street – Dinh Tien Hoang Street – Tran Hung Dao Street – Truong Tien Bridge – Le Loi Street – Bia Quoc Hoc, covering approximately 8km. This created a picturesque and meaningful scene. The event not only celebrated the traditional beauty of Hue’s ao dai but also conveyed a message of environmental protection, encouraging locals and tourists to use green transportation.

Affirming the Brand "Hue - Capital of Ao Dai" Towards Sustainable Tourism Development

The event "Ao Dai Cycling for the Environment 2024" is part of a series of activities promoting the brand "Hue - Capital of Ao Dai," celebrating Vietnam Tourism Day on July 9. This event promises to be a lively activity, attracting the interest of a large number of locals and tourists, contributing to spreading the beautiful image of Hue - the Capital of Ao Dai, Hue - ASEAN Clean Tourist City, and working towards building Hue as a bicycle-friendly city. It also aims to raise community awareness about environmental protection, promoting Hue tourism, and attracting domestic and international visitors to Hue in the future.

This year's "Ao Dai Cycling for the Environment 2024" not only raises community awareness about environmental protection but also encourages the use of eco-friendly transportation. Additionally, it provides an opportunity for locals and tourists to connect and engage, creating a civilized, friendly, and sustainable tourism community.

According to Plan No. 106/KH-UBND issued by the Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee on March 5, the Hue Community Ao Dai Week takes place from June 24 to June 30.
