At the meeting, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Phuong extended his pleasure to welcome the US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh city and highly appreciated progresses made in Vietnam - US relation. The leader of Thua Thien Hue province briefly introduced local potentials. Chairman emphasized that Thua Thien Hue is a center for culture, tourism, science, technology, extensive health care, high-quality multi-disciplinary education and training, etc.
In the past time, Thua Thien Hue - US cooperative relation observed progresses made in various fields i.e. culture, education, healthcare, economy, trade, investment, tourism, science, technology, environmental protection, disaster prevention, climate change, heritage conservation, supporting people with disabilities, solving war aftermath.
Chairman hoped that the US Consulate General would support Thua Thien Hue in heritage conservation, healthcare, education, training, etc. Particularly, the provincial leader expected the US Consulate General would introduce businesses to study and search for investment opportunities in Thua Thien Hue province.
Ms. Susan Burns - the US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh city appreciated local development potentials, particularly in tourism and services. The US Consul General emphasized that the relationship between the two countries will be accelerated in various fields, particularly trade, culture, healthcare, education, etc. On this basis, the US Consulate General will study and provide appropriate support as well as introduce US businesses to search for investment opportunities in Thua Thien Hue province.
