This award is given to six fields: Mechanical Automation; Energy saving and new energy use;Information, electronics and telecommunications; Technology to respond to climate change, Environmental protection and rational use of resources; Biology for production and life and the field of Material Technology. A total of 43 projects won prizes, including: 4 First prizes, 9 Second prizes, 15 Third prizes and 15 Consolation prizes. 

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Phan Xuan Dung, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, said: In the past 28 years, the award has attracted the active participation of a large number of scientists and technologists in the country. Thousands of scientific research and applications implemented in the fields of socio-economic and security - defense have contributed increasingly important to the country's innovation. The results of the Award are a continuation of the results of previous programs, which are an important foundation for creating momentum in the new period of the country. The award contributes to encouraging the movement of scientific and technological innovation research emulation in the country.

Attending this year's awards, Thua Thien Hue Information Technology Center (HueCIT) with the product Thua Thien Hue Open Data System (Opendata) was honored to win the Consolation Prize. In recent years, the concept of open data has become popular and important in the transition from e-government to digital government globally. Open datasets enable citizens and organizations in both the public and private sectors to access and use them for commercial and non-commercial purposes. In addition, open data also has a significant impact on state management, enhances transparency and accountability, and promotes the participation of citizens and businesses in state management activities.

Thua Thien Hue Open Data system has been developed, connected, and shared with the common systems of the province, serving the people and businesses, allowing customization of criteria associated with functions and tasks at each unit, branch, and locality to make statistics, monitor, manage, and support decision making in the management process, serving the goal of e-government and smart cities, not only bringing many benefits in the transformation of digital government but also having socio-economic value for many groups, providing the province's community with public data to promote creative development in the economy and society of the province.

Thua Thien Hue Open Data System is considered one of the essential foundations in perfecting e-government, developing digital government, and building smart cities of Thua Thien Hue province. Currently, the system is being published data under the topics: Education System, Information and Communication Technology, Transportation, Science, Economics, Labor, Environment Resources, Agriculture, Finance, Tourism Culture, Society, Construction, Health, Health, and other topics. 

Previously, the Open Data System of Thua Thien Hue Province won the second prize in the field of Information Technology, electronics, and telecommunications (without the first prize) at the Technical Innovation Contest of Thua Thien Hue Province in 2022 organized by the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Thua Thien Hue province in collaboration with Hue University, Provincial Labor Confederation, Department of Science and Technology, Provincial Youth Union.
