I first came to Hue a few years ago, but I was only able to visit a few places because of the hot summer sun. This year, I decided to take a more in-depth trip to Hue.

Accommodation

I stayed at The Scarlett Boutique, a small hotel located in Alley 17 Ben Nghe. It is centrally located, making it easy to get around, and it is right next to the walking street. The room was clean and well-equipped, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I booked the hotel directly through their Facebook page for 800,000 VND/night.

Transportation

I rented a motorbike from the hotel for 150,000 VND/day. It was a brand new Airblade with a spacious trunk for storing my things.

Itinerary

Day 1: I arrived at the hotel at 11:00 AM and checked in right away. I then went to Hue Beef Vermicelli (11a Hanoi) for lunch. I don't know if it's the standard for Hue, but my husband and I thought it was delicious.

After lunch, it started to rain, so I went to a cafe to wait for the rain to stop. Once the rain had cleared, I visited An Dinh Palace, which costs 50,000 VND/person to enter.

In the evening, I had dinner at Chan restaurant. The restaurant was quite crowded, so I made a reservation in advance. 

Day 2: For breakfast, I went to Nam Pho Noodles (16 Pham Hong Thai). They only sell noodles in the afternoon, but they do sell Hue beef noodles in the morning. The noodles were delicious, especially the crab cake.

In the afternoon, I visited Huong Thuy Xuan Village. There are many restaurants in the village, all of which are beautifully decorated. I decided to just pick a random restaurant and I was not disappointed.

I then visited Tu Duc Mausoleum, Khai Dinh Mausoleum, and Minh Mang Mausoleum. The entrance fee for each mausoleum is 150,000 VND/person. There is a place to park your motorbike and change your clothes outside of each mausoleum. I didn't want to wear my outfit on the motorbike in the rain, so I changed into it at the mausoleum.

For lunch, I ate at Phuong Mai restaurant (179 Khai Dinh). 

In the evening, I had mussel rice, mussel vermicelli, and fried mussels (17 Han Mac Tu). 

Day 3: For breakfast, I had Truong Tien O Tho bread (14 Tran Cao Van).

Coming to Hue, the first thing that visitors cannot ignore is to check in Hue Citadel with antique clothes

In the afternoon, I ate sweet soup, banh beo, and banh nam. I also bought some souvenirs. 

Day 4: I visited Thien Mu Pagoda and walked on the wooden plank bridge. The weather in Hue in November is pleasant, even when it rains.

On the way to the Nourishing shampoo, I happened to see Phu Cam Church and decided to visit it. 

On my way back to the hotel, I ate grilled meat vermicelli (37 Nguyen Truong To). 

I then returned to Hanoi, where my husband said, "How about we move to Hue?"
