Product description

Present at the event were Nguyễn Thanh Bình, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hue City People’s Committee; Phung Cong Suong, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong (Pioneer) Newspaper and Head of the Organizing Committee; along with representatives of government departments, sponsors, Miss Vietnam 2022 Huynh Thị Thanh Thuy, and the 25 national finalists of Miss Vietnam 2024.

After six months of competition, from preliminary rounds to the national semifinals, Miss Vietnam 2024 has affirmed its professionalism and a consistent humanitarian message. From hundreds of contestants across the country, the 25 most outstanding finalists were selected to compete in the national final round.

In its 37-year history, this is the first time the Miss Vietnam final will be staged in the former imperial capital of Hue – a city renowned for its distinctive cultural, historical, and artistic values. According to the Organizing Committee, choosing Hue as the host for the final night is not only a groundbreaking choice of venue, but also a reflection of the pageant’s aspiration to connect its four core values – Beauty, Culture, Intellect, and Dedication – with the profound heritage of the imperial city.

Miss Vietnam contestants

For almost a month, the 25 Miss Vietnam finalists have lived and trained together under one roof in Hue. Aside from catwalk rehearsals, group choreography, and soft skills training, the contestants also actively took part in various social and community engagement activities. One of the most heartwarming moments was a charity cooking event that provided meals to over 300 people, including patients and their caregivers at Hue Central Hospital.

A real-scene stage on the waters of the Perfume River

A key highlight of the final night is a real-scene stage set up right on the banks of the Perfume River, inspired by the image of a “jewel” glistening in the river of heritage. This marks the first time that a large-scale stage for a national beauty pageant in Vietnam has been constructed directly over water.

The Miss Vietnam 2024 Organizing Committee, comprising Tien Phong Newspaper and Hoang Thanh Media, has joined hands with the Hue People’s Committee and the Hue Monuments Conservation Center to provide optimal infrastructure for a deeply emotional final night imbued with the historical essence of the former imperial capital while honoring Vietnamese cultural values through a foundation of contemporary creativity.

Mr. Hoang Tho Ninh, Chairman of the Board, CEO of Hoang Thanh Media, and Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, shared: “The entire main stage will be set right along the southern bank of the Perfume River, directly facing Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted — a historic architectural symbol of the former imperial capital. A technical team of hundreds has worked tirelessly over many consecutive days to erect a 6,000-seat grandstand and install more than 100 tons of equipment with utmost accuracy and safety.”

A walkway stretching hundreds of meters toward the stage will be paved with ironwood, integrated with modern LED lighting and decorative elements inspired by Huế royal art, promising to create a dazzling space rich in identity.

One of the key announcements made at the press conference was the rescheduling of the final night, which was originally set to take place on the evening of June 14, 2025. However, due to unusual weather and several days of heavy rain in Huế, stage construction has been delayed. The Organizing Committee said that the final is now expected to take place on June 27.

Journalist Phung Cong Suong, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper and Head of the Organizing Committee, stated: “This is the first time the Miss Vietnam final has had to be rescheduled. Given the unfavorable weather, rescheduling was necessary to ensure the safety and thorough preparation of the final night.”

In search of well-rounded beauty

Miss Vietnam 2024 not only celebrates physical beauty but also honors the intellect, spirit, and compassion of modern Vietnamese women. Contestants are evaluated not only through on-stage competitions but also through community engagement, communication, and behavior.

A Van Hoa (Culture) Newspaper reporter raised a question during the press conference

The winner of Miss Vietnam 2024 will be crowned with a prestigious tiara and awarded a prize worth 500 million VND. The first and second runners-up will receive crowns and respective prizes of 300 million and 250 million VND. Additional titles will also be awarded, including Miss Popular, Ambassador of Kindness, Ambassador of Tourism and Environment, Ambassador of Media and Arts, and Ambassador of Sports and Fashion. Each of these titles comes with a prize of 50 million VND.

At the press conference, a wide range of questions was raised regarding the organization and feasibility of the real-scene stage. Journalists inquired whether the organizers had anticipated weather-related risks when building the stage along the banks of the Perfume River. Other topics included evaluations of this year’s contestants, details about the Miss Vietnam crown, logistical arrangements for the contestants amid the rescheduling, and the post-coronation management of the titleholder.

According to Standing Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh, as the host locality, the venue and stage setup are of paramount importance. The Organizing Committee had previously considered various scenarios, but the impact of the weather went beyond expectations. As a result, the Committee made the difficult decision to postpone the final night to allow for full preparations and ensure the event proceeds in its entirety.

25 Miss Vietnam contestants on stage at the press conference

With the event rescheduled, Mr. Hoang Tho Ninh said the Organizing Committee would arrange for the 25 contestants to return home for a break, giving them more time to refine their skills and mental readiness for the upcoming final night.

Journalist Phung Cong Suong reported that the 25 contestants have made impressive progress after more than a month of preparation. With improved appearance, intellectual readiness, and polished communication skills, they are now poised to shine on the final night. The organizers hope the crowned Miss Vietnam will embody exceptional beauty, a kind heart, and the ability to spread compassion.

The Miss Vietnam 2024 Final Night will be aired live on VTV2, Vietnam Television. In addition to the pageant, the program will feature a vibrant artistic performance by renowned artists, including People's Artist Trong Phuc, singers Ho Ngoc Ha, Le Quyen, Hoang Rob, and Nguyen Tran Trung Quan — promising a dazzling night of beauty in the heart of the heritage city.
