The event is aimed to honor cultural and historic values across the district; introduce special values of Phong Dien district and its people to far and near visitors. “Huong Xua lang co” festive day is divided into three parts i.e. ceremony, festival and sightseeing.
A number of ceremonies will take place, for example opening ceremony, parade, “Thien ha thai binh” dance, “sac bua” dance, dance praying for bumper crop and traditional Aodai parade. Regarding to festivities, the organizer will introduce “Huong xua lang co” (old scent old village) market, “Am thuc mien que” (rural gastronomy) booth, Phuoc Tich village - inspired painting camp for children, traditional craft products, OCOP products, agricultural products, cultural and historic relics, folk games, etc. Some experience activities can be named such as traditional dumpling making, Phuoc Tich ceramic product, etc.

In addition, visitors have an opportunity to visit Ruong house (wooden panel house), traditional craft villages like My Xuyen village; have a boat trip on the O Lau river; visit and take photo at Ha Tri lake. The district also collaborates with Hue Viet Company to offer a tour in which visitors have a chance to experience lotus tea making, enjoy lotus seed sweet soup, discover local gastronomy and relics, experience smart tourism products.
Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phong Dien district Hoang Van Thai kindly informed that this festive day will recreate cultural space and community activities. The event is aimed to honor cultural and historic values across the district; introduce spectacular values of Phong Dien district to far and near visitors. On this basis, the district expects to expand current market, invite surrounding localities and upgrade the market into a unique tourism product in Phong Dien district. The well-prepared and diverse festive day is expected to leave a good impression on far and near tourists coming to Phong Dien district”.
Having been held for 8 seasons, “Huong Xua lang co” festive day will help locals and visitors learn more about cultural and historic values of Phuoc Tich ancient village, raise public awareness of heritage conservation and develop Phuoc Tich ancient village into a popular tourist attraction.
