Hue-ICT Challenge 2024: High School Programming Competition Summary and Awards Ceremony

The Organizing Committee awarded the championship prize to the outstanding contestant, Lê Nguyễn Hữu An from the Gifted High School, Ho Chi Minh City National University, for winning the Pro Challenge category in the Hue-ICT Challenge 2024.
After a day of diligent and serious implementation, the Final Round of the High School Programming Competition in the Hue-ICT Challenge 2024 was held in the evening of March 31st at Hue University of Sciences, Hue University. The Organizing Committee of the Hue-ICT Challenge 2024 organized the Summary Program and Award Ceremony for the High School Programming Competition in the Hue-ICT Challenge 2024.
The Organizing Committee awarded the championship prize to the outstanding contestant, Lê Nguyễn Hữu An from the Gifted High School, Ho Chi Minh City National University, for winning the Pro Challenge category in the Hue-ICT Challenge 2024.

At the event, the Organizing Committee of the competition awarded a total of 289 prizes (including: 260 individual prizes, 29 team prizes), with a total prize money of 177,600,000 VND. Specifically, in the PRO CHALLENGE category, there were 86 individual prizes and 10 team prizes. Lê Nguyễn Hữu An from the Gifted High School, Ho Chi Minh City National University, won the championship prize. In the NAÏ CHALLENGE category, there were 123 individual prizes and 11 team prizes. Bùi Nguyễn Đức Trọng from the Lương Văn Chánh Specialized High School, Phu Yen Province, won the championship prize. In the JUNIOR CHALLENGE category, there were 51 individual prizes and 8 team prizes. Đặng Huy Hậu from Tân Hội Secondary School, Lâm Đồng Province, won the championship prize.

According to the report by the Organizing Committee of the competition, this year's competition received a record number of registrations with 2,157 students from 544 schools across 54 provinces and cities nationwide, surpassing the figures of 1,344 contestants in 2023 and 523 contestants in 2022. After passing the preliminary round, 396 outstanding contestants from 159 schools in 34 provinces and cities nationwide advanced to the Final Round with a high level of quality. Participants tackled programming tasks within 180 minutes (solving 4 to 5 problems) using programming languages such as Pascal, C/C++, Java, and Python on the testing system hosted by Hue University of Sciences, Hue University (at: https://coder.husc.edu.vn/). After completing and submitting their tasks on the system, the automated scoring system evaluated each test case to calculate the final scores and cross-checked source code to prevent plagiarism or cheating, ensuring fairness and objectivity for all participants.

Mr. Hồ Thắng - Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Thua Thien Hue Province, and Mr. Nguyễn Long - Vice Chairman cum General Secretary of the Vietnam Informatics Association, awarded prizes to the winners of the first prize at the Hue-ICT Challenge 2024 competition.

Hue-ICT Challenge is an annual competition organized by the Information and Communication Technology Association of Thua Thien Hue Province in collaboration with Hue University of Sciences, Hue University, under the guidance of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province. Since its inception, the competition has been elevated to a provincial-level event. In 2024, the competition received technical support from the expert team of the Vietnam Informatics Association (VAIP) to enhance its scale and quality to a national level.

Hue - ICT Challenge is held annually to promote creative activities and research passion in the field of ICT and communication among students from colleges and universities in Thua Thien Hue Province. It aims to build bridges between government agencies, associations, organizations, businesses, technology partners, colleges, and universities. The competition seeks to discover practical and meaningful ideas or applications, providing necessary support to refine and participate in provincial and national-level product competitions and creative idea contests.

The Organizing Committee of the Hue-ICT Challenge 2024 presented flowers and certificates to sponsors and media sponsors of the competition.

This year's Hue-ICT Challenge received the companionship of the Department of Information and Communications, the Department of Education and Training, the Provincial Information Technology Center, and sponsorship from businesses including VNLINK Technology and Communication Joint Stock Company, FPT Software LLC, KB Trading and Service LLC, SMC Hue LLC, PoSTMEDIA Joint Stock Company, GOSU Online Joint Stock Company, Brycen Vietnam Co., Ltd., and Soft World Vietnam LLC.

Earlier, on the afternoon of March 31, with the approval and facilitation of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province and the coordination of the Hue Citadel Conservation Center, the Organizing Committee arranged a free sightseeing tour of Hue's historical sites for the finalists.

The Organizing Committee took commemorative photos with delegates and sponsors of the competition after the program.
