With the message "Huế - A symphony of nature - Sustainable development," the opening program of the International Music Week Huế 2023, held on a large scale for the first time, contributed to conveying the values and messages of Thừa Thiên Huế province. This province, with Huế as a centrally governed city, envisions future development as a modern, harmonious, and sustainable urban center, retaining the distinctive characteristics of an ancient capital. The International Music Week Huế 2023 brought together musical groups from various countries such as the United States, France, the Wallonia-Brussels Delegation (Belgium), the Grand Poitiers Urban Community (France), South Korea, Vietnam, presenting beautiful, pure, yet vibrant melodies that transport the listeners' souls to nature and to Huế – an elegant, green city with sustainable development, and the charm of all four seasons.
The event aimed to establish and develop a new contemporary music event in Thừa Thiên Huế during the winter season, contributing to the local tourism development. Simultaneously, it provided an opportunity for domestic artists to engage in cultural exchange, learn from international experiences, and enhance their professional skills alongside artists from around the world.

The International Music Week Huế 2023 will be closely associated with "Huế by Light - The Live Show," a spectacular audio and light performance symbolizing cultural exchange between France and Vietnam. This event marks the conclusion of a series of activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between France and Vietnam, organized by the French Embassy in collaboration with Thừa Thiên Huế province, scheduled for the evening of December 12th.
Mesmerizing light effects adorned the ancient space in front of Ngọ Môn Gate – within the Imperial City of Huế. According to the organizers, the International Music Week Huế 2023 aims to contribute to the local tourism development, creating a space for innovative, unique, spontaneous, and humane contemporary music performances. It serves as a platform for cultural exchange, learning experiences, and enhancing musical professionalism among international and domestic artists. The event also provides an opportunity to introduce and promote the cultural and musical values of Huế, emphasizing the heritage of the imperial court music and contemporary folk music in Vietnam.
