The meeting takes place from September 10 to September 25, 2023. It is one of the most important sessions which attract public attention. On this special occasion, the Committee will nominate new world heritages, monitor the state of conservation of properties recognized as world heritages by UNESCO, and discuss modifying the instruction for implementing UNESCO Convention 1972.
Delegates attend the plenary session
On this business trip, the delegation expects to thoroughly understand new policies adopted by the 45th World Heritage Committee session regarding the UNESCO convention 1972 concerning the Protection of the World's Cultural and Natural Heritage. On this basis, instructions are given to relevant departments to conserve and enhance world cultural heritages in Thua Thien Hue province. In addition, delegate will discuss to introduce Hue cultural heritages, featured destinations, places of interest and outstanding universal values of Hue Monuments Conservation Center. This shows the contribution that Thua Thien Hue province made to Vietnam at the session of the World Heritage Committee in particular, as well as the role, and responsibility of Vietnam in UNESCO cooperation mechanism in general.
At the same time, the delegation continues to ensure the commitment made with UNESCO in managing, protecting and enhancing cultural heritages in order to specify solutions to further strengthen Vietnam - UNESCO cooperation as well as maintain and conserve heritages for coming generations.
The delegation has a meeting with Mr. Lazare Floundou Assomo, the Director of World Heritage Center
On this occasion, Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong and delegates had a meeting with Mr. Lazare Eloundou Assomo - the Director of World Heritage Center.
At this session, Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong extended his sincere thanks to UNESCO for the support in conserving Hue cultural heritages. In return, Mr. Lazare highly appreciated Hue cultural heritage conservation. The Director of World Heritage Center kindly informed that UNESCO expects to ensure a harmony between conserving and developing cultural heritages at the 30th anniversary of Hue Monuments Complex and 20th anniversary of Hue Court Music being acknowledged as the World Heritages.
