Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong - the Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province; Mr. Nguyen Nam Tien - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Thua Thien Hue province; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - the standing member of the provincial Party Committee, Vice Permanent Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; Mr. Phan Quy Phuong - Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; leader representatives of relevant departments and agencies attended the event.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong informed results that the province achieved in the past year and affirmed the important role that foreign affairs play in enhancing the position and image of Thua Thien Hue in international scope.

Accordingly, local GRDP reached VND 73.230 billion. The average GRDP growth was 7,03%, which was higher than country-wide average growth. Particularly, this was the second year that Thua Thien Hue become one of the ten provinces with excellent econmic management quality (PCI 2022). The province also won the 6th place in provincial competitiveness index (PCI). Thua Thien Hue was one of the leading provinces in public investment disbursement. The province successfully conducted key projects, attracted investment and gave priority to business development.

At present, Thua Thien Hue has expanded cooperative relations with partners and countries around the world; called for forces to invest in socio-economic development and international integration; succesfully organized political, cultural and diplomatic events. The province has also accelerated cooperative relations with foreign localities, called for investment, and cooperated in fields such as health care, education, culture, tourism, mine and explosives clearance, climate change adaptation, start-up, etc.

Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong extended sincere thanks to representatives of diplomatic agencies, Consulate general, international organizations, investors, experts, volunteers and friends who contributed, supported and accompanied with Thua Thien Hue to achieve results in the past time and effectively cooperate in the coming time.

The vital goal of the Party Committee, government, political system and people in Thua Thien Hue province is to create a spacious environment for cooperation and development; always accompany, support and create favorable conditions for international organizations, investors, experts, volunteers to effectively carry out cooperative projects and programs. These efforts are expected to help the province achieve important results, and contribute to developing Thua Thien Hue into a centrally managed city in accordance with Resolution No. 54 of the Politburo.
