VESAK CELEBRATION 2026
The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha respectfully announces the program of the Vesak Celebration 2026 (Buddhist Calendar 2570), held at Tu Dam Patriarchal Temple and various locations in Hue City.
This sacred annual celebration honors the Birth of the Buddha and brings together religious ceremonies, cultural activities, charitable programs, and community events in the spirit of compassion, harmony, and wisdom.
EVENT PROGRAM
May 17, 2026 (01/4 Lunar Calendar – Year of the Horse)
Beginning of public decoration and ceremonial preparations throughout the city.
May 21, 2026 (05/4 Lunar Calendar)
Water ceremony and installation of seven lotus lanterns in front of Nghinh Luong Pavilion.
May 24, 2026 (08/4 Lunar Calendar)

2:00 PM – Opening chanting ceremony at Tu Dam Temple and continuous Lotus Sutra chanting throughout Vesak Week.

4:00 PM – Opening ceremony of the Buddhist Cultural Exhibition at Lieu Quan Cultural Center.

7:00 PM – Lighting ceremony of seven lotus lanterns on the Perfume River near Quoc Thai Dan An Bridge.
