In accordance with Plan No. 284/KH-UBND dated August 24, 2023, issued by the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province regarding the organization of the International Photography Festival - Hue 2023, and Decision No. 1278/QD-BTDT dated August 25, 2023, by the Director of the Hue Imperial City Monument Conservation Center, which establishes the Organizing Committee for the International Photography Festival - Hue 2023:
The International Photography Festival - Hue 2023 will take place from September 9 to September 15, 2023. Specific activities will be held at the Hue monuments on September 10 and September 12, 2023, as follows:
September 10, 2023:
- Opening of the "Vietnam 2023 Photo Exhibition" (featuring award-winning photos from the 12th International Art Photography Competition in 2023 in Vietnam) and the opening ceremony of the International Photography Festival - Hue 2023.
- Time: 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Duyet Thi Duong Theater, Hue Imperial City.
September 12, 2023:
- Organizing the Changing of the Guard ceremony at Ngoc Mon Gate to welcome the international photographers.
- Traditional ao dai costume photography at the Hue Imperial City.
- Capturing performances at Duyet Thi Duong Theater.
- Enjoying tea on boats at Ngoc Dinh Lake.
The International Photography Festival - Hue 2023 is organized in Hue to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Asia Photo Bridge (Crossing Bridge) event. This event marks two decades of annual gatherings of photographers from various countries in the Asia-Pacific region. The festival includes the following activities:

Exploring Hue's Heritage: Approximately 120 international and domestic photographers will engage in creative photography activities at various locations in Hue, including Dam Lap An, Van Mieu (Temple of Literature), the tombs of King Minh Mang, King Tu Duc, and King Khai Dinh, Quang Loi Lagoon, Thanh Toan Tile Bridge, the Imperial City, Duyet Thi Duong Theater, traditional lanterns in the Imperial City, Thanh Tien Paper Flower Village (including scenes from rural life), and Dong Ba Market.

Photo Contest - "Exploring Hue's Heritage": During their stay in Hue, participating photographers will take part in a photography contest. A panel of judges, consisting of both domestic and international photographers, will evaluate approximately 1,000 submitted photos. The winning photo collection will be exhibited and later gifted by the authors to the Hue Imperial City Monument Conservation Center for heritage promotion purposes.

Volunteer Day for Hue's Children: On this day, photographers will engage in volunteer activities, including volunteer photography, environmental protection initiatives, and providing educational materials to underprivileged children in Hue.

Vietnam 2023 Photo Exhibition: The exhibition will showcase the winning photos from the 12th International Art Photography Competition held in Vietnam in 2023. Additionally, there will be a specialized discussion session on "Future Trends in Art Photography" on September 11, 2023, in Hue.
This festival aims to connect and promote the cultural heritage of Hue and its tourism services within the heritage area while celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Asia Photo Bridge event.
