The 8th Hue Thanh Tra Pomelo Festival 2026 will take place in Thuy Xuan Ward over three days, from August 29 to 31, offering an immersive experience centered around a specialty long tied to the land along the Perfume River. Under the theme “The Sweet Taste Offered to Kings,” the festival is an occasion to introduce and promote the value of Hue’s Thanh Tra pomelo, while connecting local produce with culture, tourism, and community life.
Attending the festival, locals and tourists can explore exhibition spaces dedicated to the Thanh Tra tree, learn about products made from Thanh Tra pomelos, local agricultural produce, and handicrafts, as well as savor authentic Hue cuisine. Cultural and artistic activities, folk games, and music programs will also be held, creating a vibrant atmosphere throughout the event.
A highlight of the festival includes community-based and eco-tourism activities at traditional garden houses and Nhà Rường (wooden houses) in Thuy Xuan. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover the serene Hue garden spaces, learn about the local lifestyle, cultivation methods, and cultural stories associated with the Thanh Tra pomelo—a specialty that has become an integral part of the region's memory and identity.
Within the festival framework, the Thanh Tra Pomelo Royal Offering Ceremony will be held at the Nguyệt Biều and Lương Quán communal houses, contributing to the reenactment and preservation of traditional cultural values tied to this native specialty.
Going beyond seasonal product promotion, the 8th Hue Thanh Tra Pomelo Festival aims to elevate the value of the production area, preserve garden house landscapes, and connect agriculture with tourism. Consequently, these Thanh Tra orchards serve not only as agricultural production sites but also as engaging cultural and ecological spaces for visitors.
Combining local specialties, garden culture, tourism experiences, and community activities, the Hue Thanh Tra Pomelo Festival 2026 offers locals and tourists a deeper appreciation for the unique character of Thuy Xuan, a chance to enjoy the true flavor of Thanh Tra pomelos in season, and an opportunity to explore a green, welcoming, and culturally rich Hue.
The festival also contributes to promoting the Hue Thanh Tra brand, expanding market connectivity, and generating added value for fruit cultivation linked with traditional garden house spaces.
