Ceremony to announce the Resolution on establishing Huế as a centrally governed city
Based on Resolution No. 175/2024/QH15 dated November 30, 2024, of the National Assembly regarding the establishment of Huế City as a centrally governed city, and Resolution No. 1314/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated November 30, 2024, of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the reorganization of district- and commune-level administrative units of Huế City for the 2023–2025 period (hereinafter referred to as the National Assembly Resolution and the Resolution of the Standing Committee), the Provincial People’s Committee has issued a plan to organize the Ceremony to Announce the Resolution on Establishing Huế City as a Centrally Governed City and the reorganization of district- and commune-level administrative units in Huế City for 2023–2025.

🎯 Location: Ngọ Môn Square, Huế Imperial Citadel (Thuận Hòa Ward, Huế City).
The event is expected to host approximately 1,700 delegates at Ngọ Môn Square, including central government leaders, representatives from neighboring provinces and centrally governed cities, leaders of Thừa Thiên Huế Province and Huế City, officials from provincial and city departments, organizations, and a large number of local residents.
With approval from the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the program will feature a low-altitude fireworks display to celebrate Thừa Thiên Huế’s transition into a centrally governed city. The display will include 50 firework racks and 750 shells, lasting no more than 10 minutes, starting at 9:30 PM on December 31, 2024, at Ngọ Môn Square, Huế Imperial Citadel.
The program will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television’s Central Highlands-Central Region Channel (VTV8) and Thừa Thiên Huế Radio and Television Station (TRT).
