At the training cource, trainees were informed with household solid waste segregation plan in Hue city till 2025. Accordingly, the second stage will be carried out in 36 wards/communes. Lessons learned on disseminating and instructing waste segregation at source held in the first stage 2022 were also shared.
At the event, WWF Vietnam presented 139 household waste segregation bins to the People’s Committee of Hue city. Based on lessons learned from the first stage, the white waste bin was replaced by green house storing recyclable wastes. The orange bin for hazardous waste and grey bin for glass were kept the same.
Besides, Hue city planned to provide household solid waste to Phu Son Waste Incineration Plant. Wastes will be classified into three groups i.e. recyclable waste, hazardous waste and remaining waste (excluding construction wastes and animal bodies).
The People’s Committee of wards/communes where waste segregation bins are placed were assigned to manage recycled waste, widely spread household waste segregation, develop a green, clean, bright and environmentally-friendly city.
