Visitors on Celebrity Solstice cruise ship visit destinations in Central Vietnam
On February 16, 2024 morning (the seventh day of the first lunar month), Celebrity Solstice cruise ship with 2.816 passengers and 1.188 crew members on board docked at Chan May seaport, Thua Thien Hue province. This is the first cruise line to dock at Chan May seaport in the year of the Dragon 2024. It is also the fourth time that Celebrity Solstice has docked in Chan May seaport since early 2024.

Nearly 1500 tourists visited places of interests and famous destinations, experienced culture, tourism products and cuisine in Thua Thien Hue province, Da nang city and Quang Nam province.

The cruise ship was warmly welcomed by Thua Thien Hue Tourism Department, Hue Center for Tourism Information and Promotion, Chan May Sea Port Joint Stock Company and travel agents.     

The leader of Thua Thien Hue Department of Tourism kindly informed that sea tourism is expected to considerably develop this year. So far, there have been about 40 turns of cruise ship registering for docking in Chan May seaport in 2024. Each cruise ship carries thousands of visitors and crew members. The majority of tourists are middle and high class residents whose expenditure is relatively high.

In 2023, there are 25 turns of cruise ships docking in Chan May seaport. Over 50.000 international visitors and crew members arrived in Thua Thien Hue province. As planned, the number of cruise ship will be doubled and more in 2023. At the same time, the quantity of international visitors coming to Thua Thien Hue will rapidly increase. To meet the demand of visitors, Thua Thien Hue is making effort to introduce new tours. Besides, Tourism Department, Hue Monuments Conversation Center, relevant departments and localities adopted measures, piloted services, shopping spaces, traditional craft villages to encourage visitors to stay in the province longer and spend more in the province.
