“Hue, everywhere is lovely”

“I visited Hue for the first time 14 years ago. Since then I’ve returned many times because Hue owns so many lovely things that need to be discovered,” said photographer travel blogger Ngo Tran Hai An (nickname “Quy Coc Tu”). Revisiting Hue right on the occasion of Hue International Arts Festival Week he’s very impressed with a very different city of Hue.

“Unlike the previous times, this is the first time I’ve attended Hue Festival. I saw with my own eyes the two very special events, the street parades and the light show, which gave me the feeling of a very new city of Hue. The Ancient Capital is not only poetic but also vibrant and bustling. Each show is like a piece of a mosaic of Hue tourism which can satisfy various tourists from different countries and of different ages.

As a young man who has set foot on the 63 provinces and cities in Vietnam and more than 40 countries across the globe, Hai An is also a famous travel blogger with nearly 200,000 followers on his Facebook fanpage and 169,000 followers on his TikTok. His entries are well accessed and well reacted by young people who have a passion for tourism. Hai An has a special love for Hue.

“Many people know Hue is famous for its cultural heritage, but they may not know that Hue also has beautiful landscapes, good food and many other interesting things. What anyone who visits Hue like is the gentle and kind-hearted people. Their voice sounds so attractive. I find everything in Hue lovely,” comments Hai An.

For more than three days in Hue, Hai An spent all his time exploring various places such as the Imperial City, especially Kien Trung Pavilion, Luc Bo Cultural Space, experiencing Hue traditional crafts, visiting Le Ba Dang Memorial Space, etc. He also took part in street parades and visited Ngu My Thanh Fishing Village, spending time with fishermen cooking dishes from the fish they themselves had caught with local people.

Hai An visited other places such as Tan An Beach in Quang Cong, Quang Dien District, Huyen Khong Son Thuong Pagoda, Bach Ma National Park; exploring Bach Ma Observatory, Ngu Ho (Five Lakes), Do Quyen Waterfall, and bought local products at Dong Ba Market.

“Hue landscape and Hue people’s life are so beautiful and exciting. I hope my photos and video clips will make people know and understand more about Hue. They will then come to visit,” said Hai An.

Making Hue even “hotter”

According to Hai An, relics in Hue are well conserved and the crafts of making paper flowers in Thanh Tien Village and folk paintings in Sinh Village, which have been around since a very long time ago, now become tourist products. The important thing now is how to make people know.

According to An, through his Facebook, TikTok, Instagram and websites, he’ll share his most recent photos and video clips of Hue. In that way, he will make Hue even “hotter.”

“I’ll focus on making short clips, which is a trend to many people now. Besides taking photos and filming landscapes, I’ll make close-ups, portraying Hue people and their life such as the photo of Mrs. Tuyet selling incense at Thuy Xuan Incense Village as a way to raise money for children suffering from cancer. That elderly woman’s smiles help spread the image of Hue people who are friendly and affectionate.
