The Patriarchal Ceremony and the Procession honoring the artisans and traditional craftsmen in Hue
On the afternoon of May 5/5, at Tu Tuong Park (on the banks of Huong River, Hue City), the Organizing Committee of Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2023 held the Ceremony and Procession to honor artisans, craftsmen, and traditional crafts. This is one of the main programs of the Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2023 and is a meaningful activity to thank the predecessors who openly gave birth to traditional Vietnamese crafts.

At the ceremony, People's Artisans Nguyen Van Sinh (bronze casting), People's Artisans Tran Duy Mong (jewellery) and Elite Artisans Hoang Ngoc Tuyen (lantern) represented the craft village establishments to offer incense at the beginning of the ceremony. In the solemn atmosphere, the ceremony took place in accordance with the traditional ritual full of offerings, with the full participation of artisans. At the end of the ceremony, representatives of the city's leaders and artisans respectively offered incense to the traditional craft ancestors.

Patriarchal Ceremony is performed according to traditional rituals

Immediately after the Ceremony, there was a procession to honor the traditional artisans and craft villages with the participation of more than 350 People's Artisans, Elite Artisans, and Golden Hands from 69 famous craft villages and craft establishments in the country. The procession with more than 500 people, with a ceremony band, octave, scepter team, palanquin...

From Tu Tuong Park, the colorful procession moves along Le Loi Street - Truong Tien Bridge - Tran Hung Dao Street (by the river) – Phu Xuan Bridge – Le Loi Street and ends in the area in front of Quoc Hoc School.

Since the first Hue Traditional Craft Festival in 2005, the Ceremony of the Patriarch and the Procession to honor the Artisans are the two most important ceremonies at the Hue Traditional Craft Festival to honor and remember the merits of the ancestors, and at the same time honor the crafts and generations of Artisans and have always been maintained until now. On the same day, the Ceremony honoring artisans for the units, the typical artisans of the villages in the country and internationally was also solemnly held at the closing stage of the Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2023, and at the same time awarded the Vietnam Record from the Vietnam Records Organization – VietKings for 03 unique works displayed within the framework of the Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2023 and announced the "Vote for typical products of Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2023", closing the Hue Traditional Craft Festival with great success.
