Distinguished guests attended were Mr. Pham Duc Tien - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang - the Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hue City, leaders of Department of Education and Training, representatives of departments, schools and students. Representing PetroVietnam were Mr. Tran Quang Dung - the Deputy Director in charge of the Party Committee of PetroVietnam, Mr. Dinh Trong Huy - the member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the member of the Board of Directors of the PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation.
PetroVietnam and PVEP – the member unit which is assigned to directly cooperate with the program in Hue City has invested resources, intellects and heartfelt efforts to apply the modern STEM education model. The three schools selected for STEM rooms have rich tradition, reputation and innovation spirit. Their total number of students and teachers were over 4.500 and 280, respectively. The total expenditure is VND 11.5 billion
STEM rooms are well equipped, serving teaching and learning activities in science, technology engineering and mathematics. This model helps students engage hands-on learning, developing critical thinking, teamwork skill and technological proficiency.
STEM education room holds practical meaning to Hue City’s students since it contributes to creating modern studying environment which enables students to learn through hands-on experience. This way, they develop logic mindset, problem-solving skill and know how to apply knowledge learned.
For local STEM education, it is a typical model to renovate teaching and learning methods, associating high school education with science, technology and digital transformation. It also lays a foundation to spot and nurture talents who are able to do scientific research, innovation and vocational orientation in technology and power, fields that are important to local socio-economic development in the coming time.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Quang Dung - the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of PetroVietnam emphasized that education investment ensures a sustainable future for the country. In the past time, PetroVietnam has always concerned and accompanied the education sector through social welfare programs such as building classroom, granting scholarships and improving learning condition in localities across the country. This sponsorship shows the Group’s responsibility for improving education quality and nurturing young generations, particularly in science - technology, meeting the demand of the age of digital transformation and integration.
Mr. Tran Quang Dung believed that STEM will be effectively utilized, becoming a creative learning space where the passion on scientific research among students are inspired. Consequently, the human resource quality of the City and the entire country is improved. PetroVietnam’s leader will continue to accompany and support localities, education institutions in STEM classrooms, contributing to enhancing education and training quality.

On behalf of Hue City’s leaders, Vice Chairman Tran Huu Thuy Giang extended sincere thanks to PetroVietnam and PVEP for investing resources, intellects and efforts in modern STEM education models. This is a proof for its pioneering role, social responsibility and long-term vision in human resource education and development.
Vice Chairman emphasized that these STEM education rooms not only create a new learning space, but also offer a modern education approach. It is the place where students experience, create and think in science and technology way. Thereby, core qualities for digital citizens such as critical thinking, problem-solving capacity, cooperation skill and innovation spirit.
Hue City hoped that PetroVietnam and PVEP will continue to be the long-term supporter who not only provide resources, but also share knowledge, experience and innovation spirit so that Hue young generations would master science and technology.
It can be said that Hue would have new generations of students who are knowledgeable, digitally strong and brave to integrate and have an aspiration to contribute to the City and country thanks to these STEM education rooms.
