Participating in the Second Annual Phong Dien Half Marathon in 2023

📍 Location: Phuoc Tich Ancient Village (Phong Hoa Commune, Phong Dien District, Thua Thien Hue Province)

To promote the cultural beauty of Phong Dien homeland, including Phuoc Tich Ancient Village and various tourist destinations in the area, the People's Committee of Phong Dien District collaborates with the Hue Citadel Runners Club to organize the 2nd Phong Dien District Half Marathon in 2023.

The Half Marathon event is aimed at celebrating the 79th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Army of Vietnam (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2023) and the 34th National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2023).

The race will take place on December 10 in Phuoc Tich Ancient Village (Phong Hoa Commune, Phong Dien District, Thua Thien Hue Province). The purpose is to further promote the movement of "The entire population exercises their bodies following the example of great Uncle Ho," enhance the spirit of regular physical training and sports activities among the people, and motivate the development of sports and physical fitness in Phong Dien District.

The Half Marathon race serves as a platform to showcase the image, land, and people of Phong Dien through various media outlets and fosters connections and exchanges between athletes and the community of public officials, civil servants, students, pupils, and laborers in Phong Dien District.

The Phong Dien Half Marathon route includes three distances: 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km. Participants will run through the beautiful scenery of Phuoc Tich Ancient Village and along the peaceful and picturesque O Lau River.

Phuoc Tich Ancient Village (located in Phong Hoa Commune, Phong Dien District, Thua Thien Hue Province) is the second ancient village officially recognized and designated as a national heritage site by the State. Phuoc Tich is a village with a history spanning over 500 years, situated along the banks of the peaceful O Lau River. It still preserves numerous unique ancient houses and boasts the natural landscape and cultural essence of an authentic Vietnamese village.
