DUONG NO VILLAGE FESTIVAL
"Duong No - The Journey of May"

Under the theme "Duong No - The Journey of May", the Duong No Village Festival is a meaningful event celebrating the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025) and the 127th anniversary of Nguyen Sinh Cung (President Ho Chi Minh) living in Duong No Village (1898-2025).
The Duong No Village Festival will take place over three days, from May 17 to May 19, 2025, at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Complex in Duong No Village, Duong No Ward, Thuan Hoa District, Hue City. Activities include: an artistic opening ceremony; a lotus flower procession and offering to President Ho Chi Minh; experiences with traditional crafts of Duong No such as making paper lotus flowers, printing folk paintings, and calligraphy; tasting traditional cuisine, playing folk games, and visiting stalls showcasing local products; an art competition themed around President Ho Chi Minh along with an exhibition of paintings; performances of Hue folk songs and Bolero music; an experience with the traditional art of Bai Choi; and a traditional boat racing competition.
Starting in 2025, with the merger of Phu Duong, Phu Thanh, and Phu Mau communes into Duong No Ward, the cultural space of the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Complex in Duong No Village will be expanded. This will enrich the cultural values passed down through activities like traditional craft experiences and culinary traditions organized during the festival.
This marks the third time the Duong No Village Festival has been held, establishing it as a traditional, recurring event in the historic village of Duong No, where President Ho Chi Minh spent part of his childhood. The festival aims to further implement the project “Promoting the Value of President Ho Chi Minh’s Relics in Thua Thien Hue for Tourism Development,” promoting and raising awareness among visitors about the spiritual and material value of President Ho Chi Minh’s heritage in Hue. It seeks to transform these memorial sites into destinations for tourism with unique and captivating cultural products.
