An epic chronicle of 19th-century social life
“Thi di ngon chi” is more than just an art performance; it is an epic masterpiece told through the language of theater, vividly recreating the landscape of 19th-century Vietnamese society in the Capital City of Hue. The program focuses on honoring the vast poetic heritage of the Nguyen Dynasty Emperors—works that have been recognized by UNESCO as World Documentary Heritage.
A journey through 10 epic chapters
With a structured sequence of 10 acts, the program guides the audience through various emotional levels and historical spaces:
-
From Royal Court to Daily Life: Recreating everything from solemn court rituals to the simple, rustic lives of the common people.
-
The Vitality of Spring: Spring is portrayed through festivals, military maneuvers, and the grand efforts of nation-building.
-
The Sacred Soul of Mountains and Rivers: Royal poems are woven into a narrative of history, celebrating the nation's thousand-year-old treasures.
A symphony of sound and light
To fully convey the spirit of ancient verses, the program is elaborately staged using modern performance technologies:
-
Multi-sensory Effects: A perfect harmony of sound, light, visuals, and live acting.
-
Special Techniques: The use of pyrotechnics and smoke effects creates a visually stunning and dramatic spectacle at the Ngo Mon Square stage.
