This September, running enthusiasts and nature explorers will have the opportunity to participate in a brand-new sporting event in Hue – Hoa Chau City Trail 2026. This race offers a unique blend of road and trail running, leading athletes to conquer the most beautiful paths of the Hoa Chau region.

Organized for the first time in Hue, Hoa Chau City Trail 2026 is not merely a sports race but a journey to experience the nature, culture, and peaceful rhythm of life on the edge of Tam Giang Lagoon. With the starting and finishing lines located at the Ru Cha Mangrove Forest Eco-Tourism Area, the race opens up opportunities for participants to explore one of the most distinctive ecosystems in Hue City.

From their very first steps at dawn, athletes will immerse themselves in the cool, green space of the Ru Cha mangrove forest, where ancient, moss-covered "Chá" trees create a scenery that is both mystical and poetic. The running route will then lead participants through peaceful village roads, wide-open rice fields, waterfront residential areas along the lagoon, and challenging trail sections, bringing a wide range of emotions at every stage.

The tournament features four distances: 5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km, making it suitable for a wide range of participants, from beginners to professional athletes. Each distance is carefully designed to allow runners to fully appreciate the natural beauty and cultural identity of Hoa Chau.

According to Plan No. 191/KH-UBND dated June 4, 2026, issued by the People's Committee of Hoa Chau Ward, the race is organized to further promote the campaign "All people exercise their bodies following the example of the great Uncle Ho," while providing a healthy sports playground and contributing to the growth of the running movement in Hue City. This is also a practical initiative aimed at promoting the image, people, and tourism potential of the locality to both domestic and international tourists.

Hoa Chau is a land located at the northern gateway of Hue City, only about 4 km from the city center. It possesses a favorable location connecting the urban center of Hue with the Tam Giang lagoon ecosystem and Thuan An beach. Not only famous for its Ru Cha mangrove forest, the locality also preserves many historical and cultural values, traditional craft villages, and the characteristic landscapes of the lagoon's borderlands.

Hoa Chau City Trail 2026 is organized by the People's Committee of Hoa Chau Ward in collaboration with VietRace365 Joint Stock Company, Hue Lens Company, the Hue Institute for Development Studies (HueIDS), running clubs, and various relevant organizations. With thorough and professional preparation alongside an experience-rich route, the race is expected to attract thousands of athletes from numerous provinces and cities across the country as well as international runners.
