The Hue City People’s Committee has approved the organization of the 1st Hue Heritage Trail Run, scheduled for November 1–2, 2025, at the Nghinh Luong Dinh Area and along the distinctive heritage routes of Hue City.
This event is a highlight of the Hue Wellness Tourism Week 2025, aligning with the National Tourism Year 2025, aiming to blend community sports with immersive cultural, historical, and natural experiences in the ancient capital.
The Hue Heritage Trail 2025 is the first City Trail race in Hue City, where every step of the runners is a journey through vibrant heritage. From the serene beauty of the Perfume River to the majestic Imperial Citadel, from Thien Mu Pagoda to Vong Canh Hill or the lush Hon Vuon forest, the race creates a unique setting steeped in Vietnam’s cultural identity.
With four race distances, each route offers a slice of Hue’s heritage, guiding participants through iconic landmarks such as the Perfume River, Thien Mu Pagoda, Van Thanh Temple, Vong Canh Hill, and Hon Vuon Mountain. The race is not only a physical challenge but also an opportunity for runners to immerse themselves in the cultural and spiritual depth of the ancient capital.
10KM – IGNITE THE JOURNEY
A gentle and approachable distance, the 10km race is the perfect starting point to touch the soul of Hue – serene yet profound. With minimal elevation, this easy route is ideal for beginners, friends, or families who love Hue and seek a relaxed experience. Runners will pass through cultural and historical icons in the city center, including Nghinh Luong Dinh, Quoc Hoc Hue School, Nam Giao Esplanade, and conquer Nui Ban Hill.
20KM – ECHOES OF THE PAST
Blending the city’s charm with natural beauty, the 20km route takes runners through landmarks that are both historic and poetic. With slight elevation, this course combines the old quarter and romantic pine hills, perfect for runners who crave scenic and nostalgic experiences. Key stops include Nghinh Luong Dinh, Quoc Hoc Hue School, Nam Giao Esplanade, Nui Ban Hill, Vong Canh Hill, Tu Duc Tomb, and Nguyen Hoang Bridge, evoking a journey back in time with a reflective heart.
40KM – BREATH OF THE SACRED FOREST
A true “trail exploration,” the 40km distance connects pristine nature with Hue’s cultural depth. Featuring gentle trail terrain with slopes and forest paths, this route is designed for adventurous spirits eager to immerse themselves in green landscapes and hear the echoes of Hue’s sacred forests. Runners will pass through Thien Mu Pagoda, Van Thanh Temple, the serene Khe Ngang Lake, and part of Hon Vuon Peak.
60KM – HERITAGE ODYSSEY
The ultimate and most challenging distance of the Hue Heritage Trail 2025, the 60km race is for seasoned runners with unwavering determination and a passion for exploring the full depth of Hue’s heritage. With significant elevation changes, this journey stretches from Nghinh Luong Dinh to Nui Ban Hill, Vong Canh Hill, and the entirety of the sacred Hon Vuon forest, connecting the soul of Hue through the runners’ footsteps and resilience.
The event is organized in full compliance with legal regulations, under the supervision and support of the Hue City People’s Committee and relevant authorities. Professional measures for medical support, safety, environmental protection, and communication are meticulously implemented to ensure a high-quality, inspiring race that promotes positive community values.
