On the afternoon of August 27, the Tourism Department informed about the provincial tourism situation for the upcoming National Day on September 2nd.

According to the statistics and surveys done by the provincial tourism sector, in 5 days from August 30 to September 3rd, the total number of tourists coming to Thua Thien Hue is forecasted to reach 120.000 arrivals (witnessing an increase of 22.4% compared to that of the same holiday last year). Revenue from tourist services is expected to reach 132 billion VND.

The number of overnight stays is projected to reach 48,000 (a 31.3% increase compared to that of on September 2, 2023), including about 16,500 international visitors (a 54.3% increase compared to that of September 2, 2023). The average hotel room occupancy rate is expected to be around 64%. On August 31 and September 1, many accommodation establishments are expected to have occupancy rates exceeding 80%. Most hotels in the Hue central area, beachfront resorts, and the area of lagoon and waterfalls, as well as homestays in Hue City, Phu Loc district, and A Luoi district, are nearly fully booked for these two days.

According to a representative of the Tourism Department, the travel trend of visitors during this holiday period is to travel in family groups using private cars or trains. They are interested in relaxation and experiencing the local culture and nature.

Additionally, in the holiday of the National Day on September 2nd, the Vietnam Railways Corporation offers discounts on tickets for both group and individual travelers, leading to a significant increase in the number of train passengers arriving in and departing from Huế. Furthermore, Phu Bai International Airport plans to handle 330 flights, transporting approximately 59,400 passengers. The Vietnam Railways Corporation also expects to welcome around 13,000 passengers at Hue Station. Specifically, the Central Vietnam heritage train route connecting Hue and Da Nang has about 3,500 passengers already registered for the holiday period; on August 31 and September 2nd, the trains on this route are fully booked.
