Pushing up communication
Mr. Truong Thanh Minh, Director of the Tourism Promotion Information Center, said that immediately after Hue City announced the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 program, the local tourism sector implemented a communication plan through websites, social media, and sent information to travel agencies, hotels, tourism businesses, and tourist attractions.
According to Mr. Do Ngoc Co, Chairman of the Hue Travel Association, based on the information from the Department of Tourism, the business community has connected with partners to build tours and routes, at the same time incorporating the activities of the National Tourism Year into tour programs to introduce and sell tours to tourists. This year, the tourism sector of the Imperial City will participate more in activities at travel fairs, among them, in two travel fairs expected to take place in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in April and September 2025. Hue Tourism will also participate in the Cultural Tourism Week in major cities at both ends of the country in May and September 2025.
One of the highlights is that the tourism sector of the Imperial Ancient Capital will intensify its promotional activities to introduce the National Tourism Year programs in many countries and continents around the world. Expectedly, in May and September this year, Hue tourism will participate in the European Cultural Tourism Week (in two sessions) in countries such as Germany, France, Italy, Poland, and the Czech Republic. Additionally, in Asia, Hue Tourism will also bring information to international travel fairs to introduce to businesses and tourism in South Korea (June), Indonesia, and Malaysia (July).

Introducing tourism information, programs, and destinations in Hue
Mr. Minh shared that at domestic events, the local tourism sector is making efforts to meet and introduce the National Tourism Year information to 400 businesses, aiming to convey the information to their tourists. For international programs, Hue Tourism will strive to introduce information to about 100 businesses in each country. This will serve as an effective bridge to ensure the smoothest dissemination of information to tourists. On the other hands, Hue will also welcome the famtrip delegations to survey tourism products, tours, and destinations in Hue. It is expected that in March 2025, a famtrip delegation from Australia will visit Hue for a survey.
In addition, the local tourism sector will organize and coordinate with the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism to welcome several famtrip and Presstrips delegations for foreign travel businesses and press teams from key and potential markets such as Japan, South Korea, Europe, North America, and ASEAN countries, etc., to survey tourism products. The tourism sector of the Imperial Ancient Capital will prepare the best conditions and provide full information about the programs and activities which will be held during the National Tourism Year, so that foreign businesses can grasp the details and introduce them to tourists, with the goal of planning trips to Hue for an experience as soon as possible.
Innovating media methods
Along with traditional media channels, this year, the local tourism sector will innovate its communication methods, focusing on trends that appeal to the majority of tourists. In particular, the tourism industry has been and is currently producing short films and videos to introduce information and tourism products. These videos will be used across digital platforms to engage a larger audience, offering a dynamic and visually appealing way to introduce Hue’s cultural and historical attractions.
Leaders of the Tourism Promotion Information Center shared that as part of the plan, the unit has created a 30-second video for communication on CNN, an American channel. Additionally, there will be increased efforts to promote Hue's tourism products to international markets, including launching advertising packages about Hue's destinations on popular national and international television channels (CNN, BBC, DW, NHK, KBS, etc.). The center will also actively seek support and collaboration from other countries and international organizations for promoting Hue’s tourism image. Furthermore, it will coordinate with public media agencies, foreign information agencies, and Vietnam’s diplomatic missions abroad to strengthen promotion and raise awareness of Vietnamese tourism in general, and Hue in particular, overseas.
According to the Department of Tourism, the tourism sector aims to professionalize communication, promotion, and publicity efforts to achieve real effectiveness. Based on tourists' engagement trends, Hue tourism will also connect with influencers on social media such as bloggers, KOLs, vloggers, and inspirational figures to promote and advertise the destination. Currently, the department is also implementing the enhancement of information technology in tourism promotion while ensuring security and order. This includes developing mobile applications, websites, and social media platforms to provide timely and accurate information to tourists. Additionally, data analysis tools will be used to gain a better understanding of tourist behavior and demands, enabling more effective publicity and promotional strategies.
