The Hue Nam Temple Festival, organized by the Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with the Support Committee for Hue Nam Temple, officially kicked off on the morning of April 10th and lasted for 2 days.

From early morning, co-religionists performed rituals at Thien Tien Holy Shrine. This was followed by a land procession from there to the Nghinh Luong Pavilion. The procession passed through central streets along the North bank of the Perfume River such as Chi Lang, Tran Hung Dao, Le Duan before stopping at Nghinh Luong Pavilion.

Covering a distance of nearly 3km, the procession with various incense-tables and hundreds of co-religionists dressed in traditional costumes, together with flag banners, created an atmosphere of solemnity yet vibrancy as they received the warm welcome of the local people and tourists.

After performing the ceremony of declaration and praying for peace at Nghinh Luong Pavilion, the procession took turns boarding the dragon boats and moving to Hue Nam Temple to perform other important rituals such as the Main Ceremony, praying for National peace and prosperity and the Gratitude Ceremony.

The Hue Nam Temple Festival is a traditional activity with cultural and spiritual elements of a part of the Hue people in particular and the whole country in general, held annually in the 3rd and 7th lunar months at the temple located on Ngoc Tran Mountain on the bank of the Perfume River, where the Mother Goddess Thien Y A Na is worshiped. The festival is considered a Festival of folk culture on the Perfume River.
