HUE CHAMBER MUSIC PERFORMANCE

Date and Time: From 9:00 AM to 09:30 AM and From 14:30 PM to 15:00 PM daily

Location: Nhat Thanh Lau Pavilion, Hue Imperial City

Hue Chamber music originated from royal music at the beginning of the 19th century in the Nguyen Dynasty. It was well-developed by the time of King Tu Duc.

Ca Hue includes both Hue folk songs and Hue instruments, and is based on a system of styles of more than 60 vocal and instrumental works on two major lines, the North and the South. The songs belonging to the Northern melody have a cheerful and luxurious timbre, and the songs belonging to the Southern melody sound sad and sad. There are also songs that have both the sound of the Northern melody and the rhythm of the song Tu Dai Canh.

Ca Hue arose from the royal court, then spread to the folk, blending with the flourishing Hue folk music, and creating a clear local identity.

Ca Hue was recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2015 and is under preparation for submission to UNESCO for recognition as a Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

In the past, listening to Hue's songs in the Perfume River was an elegant pleasure for princes and officials in Hue's court. Today, this type of singing and dancing has been "popularized" so that all visitors coming here can enjoy Hue songs on the Perfume River and at the Palace.
