This Year’s Entry: A Green Innovation for Urban Management
The system leverages GIS mapping technology to manage urban assets such as trees, green spaces, water bodies, lighting systems, and waste bins. It supports digitization, database creation, and efficient operations for tree care and landscape management through a digital platform (via web and mobile apps). This enhances efficiency, reduces costs, and enables timely monitoring and resolution of issues like pest control and tree health.
A Key Component of Digital Transformation
This solution is ideal for organizations tasked with managing urban greenery and assets distributed over large areas. It was developed under the national-level project "Research and Development of Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) for Urban Planning and Management with Pilot Applications in Thua Thien Hue Province", implemented by HueCIT from 2019 to 2021.
The system is currently deployed at Hue Greenery Park Center, where it manages over 12,000 trees, including 253 species categorized into planting, restricted, and prohibited lists, and 236 tree-lined streets across 13 wards. Additionally, it has been installed at the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, with plans to enhance its capabilities for managing heritage trees, water landscapes, and greenery at heritage sites.
The system is also proposed for use by the Department of Construction to facilitate comprehensive urban tree management, including data on green space areas, shade trees, planting restrictions, and annual maintenance budgets. These functions align with the reporting requirements outlined in Circular 01/2023/TT-BXD issued by the Ministry of Construction.
