Opening of the Final Round Of The High School Programming Competition – Hue-ICT Challenge 2025

On the morning of March 23, 2025, 451 outstanding contestants who successfully passed the Preliminary Round of the High School Programming Competition – Hue-ICT Challenge 2025 competed in the Final Round held at the University of Sciences, Hue University (77 Nguyen Hue, Phu Nhuan Ward, Thuan Hoa District, Hue City).

This is the most anticipated event for the national student community passionate about information technology, providing young talents a platform to showcase their creativity and exceptional programming skills.

This year’s competition featured 451 finalists who advanced from the Preliminary Round, including:

  • PRO CHALLENGE: 129 contestants

  • NAÏ CHALLENGE: 241 contestants

  • JUNIOR CHALLENGE: 81 contestants

According to statistics from the Organizing Committee, the Preliminary Round had 2,133 registered contestants from 537 schools across 54 provinces/cities nationwide, with:

  • PRO CHALLENGE: 568 contestants

  • NAÏ CHALLENGE: 920 contestants

  • JUNIOR CHALLENGE: 645 contestants

  • Candidates focus on taking the exam

Competition Format and Integrity Measures

At the Final Round, after attending the Opening Ceremony at the University of Sciences, Hue University, contestants were assigned to examination rooms as arranged by the Organizing Committee. Each contestant received login credentials to access the competition system at http://coder.husc.edu.vn.

To ensure fairness and integrity, the Organizing Committee implemented:

  • An automated grading system

  • A proctoring team

  • Source code plagiarism detection software

If two or more submissions share 90% or higher source code similarity, the Organizing Committee will review the case. If plagiarism is confirmed, the submission will be disqualified and deemed a violation of competition regulations.

The Organizing Committee of the Competition will conduct live and online supervision during the Final Round

Cultural Experience & Awards Ceremony

In the afternoon of March 23, the Organizing Committee provided free guided tours of the Imperial City of Hue for contestants, parents, and teachers attending the Final Round. This initiative aimed to:

  • Offer a cultural and educational experience

  • Promote the heritage and cultural beauty of Hue

The Award Ceremony for the High School Programming Competition will take place at 7:00 PM on March 23, 2025, at Auditorium A1, University of Sciences, Hue University.

About Hue-ICT Challenge

The Hue-ICT Challenge is an annual competition organized by the Hue Information and Communication Technology & Electronics Telecommunications Association (HueDITA) in collaboration with the University of Sciences, Hue University. First launched in 2022, the competition has received strong support from:

  • People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province (now the People’s Committee of Hue City)

  • Department of Information and Communications (now the Department of Science and Technology)

  • Department of Education and Training

  • Hue City Information Technology Center (HueCIT)

  • Hue Monuments Conservation Center

  • Official media sponsorship from the Khamphahue Information Portal

Since 2024, the competition has been nationally recognized, receiving academic sponsorship from the Vietnam Association for Information Processing (VAIP), further elevating its scale and prestige.

After four years, Hue-ICT Challenge has established itself as a prestigious and highly anticipated competition in Vietnam’s IT community. With strong backing from Hue’s business and tech community, particularly IT companies, the competition has become:

Through this competition, students and contestants compete fairly and enthusiastically, developing essential skills that will shape the future of Vietnam’s technology landscape.
