On June 15, 2023, the Department of Culture and Sports of Thua Thien Hue province issued Plan No. 1371/KH-SVHTT on the organization of the "Ca Hue Festival" in 2023. Activities to implement the plan in 2023, contributing to the conservation and promotion of Hue song heritage, responding to Hue Festival in 2023.

Along with the northern Ca Tru, the southern Don Ca Tai Tu, Ca Hue is one of the three chamber music genres with the highest level of development in the treasure of traditional Vietnamese music, second in history, and the only one born in the royal palace.
Ca Hue was born in the 17th century and became an elegant hobby of the royal family during a long time when Hue was the capital of Dong Trong, then the capital of the whole country under the Nguyen Dynasty, reaching the peak from the reign of Minh Mang emperor (1820 - 1840) to the reign of Tu Duc emperor (1848 - 1883). Ca Hue arose from the royal court, then spread to the folk, blended with the flourishing Hue folk music, creating a clear local identity.
In 2015, Ca Hue was recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage and is being developed a dossier to submit to UNESCO for recognition as a Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
This is the first time a festival has been organized. Coming to Ca Hue Festival this year, there is participation of units from 7 districts, towns, cities and companies organizing performances in Hue city. This is considered one of the practical activities to preserve and promote the value of Ca Hue heritage in the current period.
