The "International Dance Festival - 2024" will be held from August 17 to August 22, 2024, at the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Culture and Cinema Center (41A Hung Vuong, Phu Nhuan, Hue City, Thua Thien Hue Province). The festival will gather nearly 500 artists and performers from 17 art groups representing nine countries: the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the Republic of the Philippines, the People's Republic of China, the Republic of India, the Republic of Indonesia, the Kingdom of Cambodia, the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, and the host country, Vietnam.

The International Dance Festival is held every three years, featuring the participation of professional dance companies representing various regions and countries around the world, as well as professional music and dance ensembles from Vietnam.

Regulations for Participating Works:

- Genres: The festival includes short dances, dance poems, dance suites, short dance dramas, and dance dramas, spanning various styles such as folk, classical, and modern.
- Forms: Performances may include solo, duo, trio, or group dances.

Artistic Criteria:

Participating works must be of high artistic quality, clearly conveying the content, ideas, and artistic imagery to the audience through elements such as structure, dance language, music arrangement, character portrayal, and the use of space, time, props, and acting techniques. Costumes and makeup should be appropriate for the purpose, content, and artistic imagery of the work, while also respecting the cultural traditions of each region, ethnicity, and nation, and aligning with Vietnamese culture. The festival encourages new creations that are rich in cultural identity, reflecting the vibrant, multifaceted life of society and people, and showcasing innovative forms of expression that enrich the art of dance.

Regulations for Participating Units:

- Domestic Units: Each domestic unit may present one performance lasting no more than 30 minutes, with no limit on the number of performers. Units are responsible for securing copyright for the works they present. The works must meet the festival's artistic criteria, demonstrate unique and creative elements, and may include previous works that have not won awards at other national or international dance competitions. Newly choreographed works are encouraged.
- Foreign Units: Each foreign unit's performance must also not exceed 30 minutes, and the total number of participants, including the team leader, should not exceed 16. As with domestic units, foreign units are responsible for copyright issues related to their works.

Awards:

The festival's organizing committee will award Gold and Silver Medals to performances of high artistic quality, based on the evaluations of the Art Council. Certificates of merit and other material benefits (if any) will also be awarded. The number of awards will not exceed 35% of the total number of participating performances, with Gold Medals not exceeding 35% of the total awards. Prizes will be awarded in descending order based on the scoring by the Art Council, and there is no requirement to meet the 35% ratio if the quality of the performances does not meet the evaluation criteria.
