The exhibition presents to viewers nearly 150 paintings and engravings of folk paintings belonging to 4 of the typical folk painting genres of Vietnam including Dong Ho (Bac Ninh), Hang Trong, Kim Hoang (Hanoi) and Sinh Village (Hue). These  are of  the collection of Hue Museum of Fine Arts.

These paintings were created to serve the daily lives of the people. Through the skillful hands of artisans, the paintings become extremely unique. Each work is a deeply humanistic message. Folk paintings are the crystallization of many aesthetic, spiritual, and religious values, imbued with cultural elements of Vietnamese people through the ages. Folk paintings not only meet the aesthetic needs and spiritual beliefs of the people but also contain and promote human ethics, educate good qualities, and pray for good things.

In addition to the display and introduction of folk paintings, experimental art education activities were held for students and folk art lovers. The exhibition lasts until March 22.

*On the same day, the creative program "Phu Loc Beauty Sketch Journey 2024" opened in Phu Loc district with the participation of nearly 50 artists who love sketching from Hanoi and Hue.

The sketch program was organized by Hue Museum of Fine Arts in collaboration with the Hanoi Urban Sketch Group, the Department of Culture and Information of Phu Loc district, and a number of related organizations in Phu Loc district.

Taking place from March 20-24, the artists will go on field trips to famous Phu Loc landscapes such as Cau Hai Lagoon, Truoi Lake, Truc Lam Bach Ma Zen Monastery, Thanh Duyen Pagoda, Bach Ma National Park, etc., to experience for composing art works.

According to the organizing committee, direct painting and sketching activities will contribute to preserving, promoting, and honoring the value of Hue cultural heritage in general; cultural features, natural landscapes, traditional history of the land and people of Phu Loc in particular to domestic tourists and international friends through the perspective of painting.
