When this special day comes, people prepare party, join in parade and perform lion dances.
The party usually includes moon cake, candy, sugarcane, pomelo and other fruit. Moon cake which stands for family reunification is an irreplaceable part on this special occasion. Although this traditional dish comes in various flavors, there are two main kinds i.e. baked and sticky rice cake. Lion dance is often performed in the evening of the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month. It is said that the lion brings prosperity, wealth and good luck to the house owners. Almost every child loves watching lion dance.
