Currently, there are 9 projects co-held by UNDP in Thua Thien Hue province, Some typical examples are “Tang cuong kha nang chong chiu voi nhung tac dong cua BĐKH cho cac cong dong de bị ton thuong ven bien Viet Nam” (Improving the resilience of vulnerable coastal communities to climate change related impacts in Viet Nam); “Ap dung kien thuc ban dia trong rung bang cay ban dia tao dai bang xanh vua han che chay tung trong keo thuan hien nay, dong thoi bao ton nguon gen cay ban dai tai ban Phuc Loc, Xuan Loc commune, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province” (applying locals’ knowledge in planting native forest so that a strip of vegetation will be planted to minimize forest fire as well conserve native trees in Phuc Loc hamlet, Xuan Loc commune, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province); “Bao ton cac khu dat ngap nuoc quan trong va sinh canh lien ket” (conserving critical wetland protected areas and linked landscapes); “Tiep nhan khoan vien tro 06 xe dien bon banh chuyen dung thu gom rac” (receiving six electric garage trucks for waste collection); “Nang cao nang luc cong dong trong quan ly rac thai nhua gan voi phat trien du lich bien, dam pha" (improving public capacity for managing plastic waste along with developing sea tourism and lagoon tourism); “Lang hoa binh Vietnam - Han Quoc” (Vietnam - Korea Peace Village) At the meeting, the two sides discussed projects to be carried out in the province in the coming time, obstacles relating to land allocation, handing over solar energy system, projects to be approved, etc. The leader of Thua Thien Hue province hoped that UNDP would support Thua Thien Hue in projects had already been and is being currently carried out in Thua Thien Hue province; actualize memorandum of understanding signed, for example providing information via smart city’s application; information map for people with disabilities (D-Map); accelerate climate business index; help businesses develop green business; invest in green products and value chain.
