The tenth Hue Festival - 2018 continues to be a venue of art exchange among nations’ cultures, to keep on promoting international exchange relations; to introduce and spread the special values of Vietnam culture, Hue culture, to strengthen the development of service-tourism, socio-economic developments of Thua Thien Hue in the active international integration process.

Hue Festival 2018 continues to be “the theatre” of art troupes from many countries

Hue Festival 2018 is associated with political and historical events of Thua Thien Hue and the country: 50th anniversary of the Mau Than Spring general offensive (1968-2018); 230th anniversary of the crowning of King Quang Trung-Nguyen Hue at Ban Mountain (1788-2018); 25th anniversary of the complex of Hue monuments recognized as world cultural heritage (1993-2018); 15th anniversary of Hue Royal Refined Music recognized by UNESCO as the intangible cultural masterpiece of humanity (2003-2018).

Hue Festival 2018 focuses on the essence of Vietnamese art and culture, especially Hue's cultural heritage with 5 world heritages recognized by UNESCO (complex of Hue monuments, Hue Royal Refined Music, woodblocks of the Nguyen Dynasty, official administrative documents of the Nguyen Dynasty and poetry on Hue royal architecture); along with two national heritages: Ca Hue and Zèng weaving.
