May tre dan Bao La is situated approximately 2km east of Huong Tra Town and a little over 12km from Hue City. The experience area is equipped with four guides to assist visitors, along with signboards providing information about the tourist destination. A service area for refreshments and dining is available within the cooperative's premises to cater to visitors' needs. In the experience area, various woven bamboo products are exhibited and available for purchase.
May tre dan Bao La fully meets all three criteria for tourist destinations as stipulated by the Tourism Law of 2017: it possesses tourism resources, has defined boundaries on a topographical map confirmed by authorized agencies (with map scale dependent on management requirements and the local terrain), and boasts adequate infrastructure and essential services to ensure the comfort of tourists. The destination also meets conditions regarding security, order, social safety, and environmental protection.
All products crafted by the artisans of Bao La Village are made from bamboo and reed materials. The type of bamboo used, known as "tre lo o," possesses unique qualities such as a straight stem and long nodes. This bamboo variety forms the basis for a wide range of everyday items used in daily life and agricultural production, including baskets, mats, screens, fans, and more. Each woven bamboo product is a piece of artistic work, demanding delicate techniques, meticulous attention, and skilled craftsmanship from generations of talented hands.
