General Nguyen Chi Thanh (1914 - 1967) was born in Niem Pho village, Quang Tho commune, Quang Dien district, Thua Thien Hue province. More than 30 years of continuous and extremely lively revolutionary activities, he was considered the soul of the resistance war against the French colonialists of the three provinces of Binh Tri Thien; At the same time, He was also famous for the motto "Hold the enemy belt to fight" - one of the great tactics in the history of the people's war in Vietnam. He was repeatedly detained by the French colonialists in harsh prisons such as Lao Thua Phu (Thua Thien Hue), Lao Bao prison (Quang Tri), Buon Me Thuot prison (Dak Lak), and was brutally tortured. However, under any circumstances, he kept the atmosphere of the courageous and faithful communist who tried to escape from prison to build the revolutionary movement.
